Eucatex was established in 1951. Between 1951 and 1965, the Company had its first branches and offices in various capitals of Brazil and in Argentina. Eucatex is the first Brazilian Company to have ever thought of managing the environment.
It has several other branches like Eucatex S.A. Industria e Commercio, Eucatex Trading e Engenharia and Eucatex Quimica e Mineral. 1951, the Company started producing soft boards and later on ceiling tiles and panels. Due to its rapid increase in production and export, it further split into four major areas of production i.e Wood, Forestry, Mineral and Metallic and with a huge number of staff (2,201) the Company exports to 37 countries and also owns four factories in Botucato and Salto.
In 2005, Eucatex S.A. Industria e Commercio appointed Mr. Flavio Maluf as its Vice President of the Board of Chief Executive Officers and Chairman of Board of Executive Officers. He is also the Vice Chief Executive Officer of Eucatex Trading e Engenharia and Chief Executive Officer of Eucatex Quimica e Mineral. On his official site Mr. Maluf shows to have completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering having specialized in various fields like Management of People, Rural Management, Foreign Exchange Principals, Foreign Trade Principals and Accounting. Under his leadership, the Company has experienced tremendous growth and expansion.
Apart from production and exports, the Company also indulges in Corporate Social Responsibilities like collection and donation of food stuffs, having children’s day, Christmas sponsoring, gym at the work place to name but a few. This is a very big gesture from the Company as it helps in developing communities around it.
In 1996, it was noted that Eucatex Products were internationally acknowledged hence the Company once again became the first Brazilian Company to receive the Certification ISO 9001. And as a champion in market and manufacturing, the company celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2011.
